June 24th: John D. Steinmetz, CEO & President, Vista Bank

Our guest for the June 24th edition of PlayMakers Talk Show: John D. Steinmetz, CEO & President, Vista Bank

John D. Steinmetz, CEO & President, Vista Bank

John D. Steinmetz serves as the President and CEO of Vista Bank and Vice-Chairman of the holding company, Vista Bancshares. At the time of his appointment to Bank CEO, the 110 year old company was a West Texas bank located in Ralls, headquartered in Lubbock, and focused primarily on agricultural lending. John helped turn a $58 million West Texas row crop bank into an $1.4 billion bank expanding the footprint into the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin markets.

Established in 1912, Vista Bank operates 15 locations across Texas. Under John’s leadership, assets have grown by 530% in the last decade, breaking Vista into the Top 100 Texas Banks by asset size last year.

John took over as CEO in 2014, becoming the first in the company who was not a member of its founding family. Last year, Vista Bank left its previous headquarters in the Lubbock area and moved to Dallas, too. With about 160 employees and a customer base of more than 17,400, Vista Bank grew by 450 percent between 2010 to 2020.
