December 2 – Tyler Berns, Partner, Birch Construction

Our guest for the December 2nd edition of PlayMakers Talk Show: Tyler Berns, Partner, Birch Construction

Tyler Berns, Partner, Birch Construction

Tyler is a founding partner of Birch Construction, a North Texas commercial general contractor focused on creative client-centric solutions to construction projects.

Tyler grew up in Dallas before heading to the University of Oklahoma where he received a degree in Construction Science and Business. He moved back to Dallas after taking a job with Austin Commercial where he worked in operations, pre-construction and business development. During his tenure at Austin, Tyler was privileged to participate in the Executive MBA program at the University of Texas at Dallas. After 12 years with Austin, he accepted a position as Vice President at a local general contractor.

In 2019 he and partner, Matt Smith, teamed to form Birch Construction. Now in their fourth year of business, the firm focuses on building leaders as a way to achieve their vision of being the most referred general contractor doing the most repeat business in North Texas.

When he’s not working, Tyler enjoys coaching soccer teams for both of his children, working with the non-profit he helped found, Camp Firewalker, spending time at the lake, and traveling to the mountains with his family. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors for TEXO (the North Texas Chapter of AGC & ABC), and for the TouchDown Club which funds operations of The Rise School of Dallas (a school for kids with and without disabilities).
