Dan Butcher, Managing Partner, Strasburger & Price

Dan Butcher is one of the top tax attorneys in Texas as well as managing partner of Dallas-based Strasburger & Price,  one of the fastest-growing law firms in the country.  He counsels clients on tax matters, particularly in the areas of state and local taxation.

His firm’s current clients include 7-Eleven and Rent-A-Center while employing 85 lawyers in Dallas and 38 in Collin County.

Under Dan’s leadership, Strasburger broke from the industry standard in 2007 and cut billable requirements for first-year lawyers from 1,920 hours to 1,600 hours. That allowed more time for showing young associates the ropes without training those lawyers on the client’s tab.

The firm simultaneously created a mentoring program in which incoming associates were required to spend 550 hours shadowing senior attorneys.

Jim Hanophy, CEO, Operation Kindness

Jim Hanophy is a passionate animal advocate with more than 30 years of experience working with nonprofits. As the chief executive officer of Operation Kindness, Jim oversees day-to-day operations; supports animal rights legislation and identifies and cultivates fundraising opportunities.

Operation Kindness is the oldest and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas.  Located in Carrollton, Operation Kindness saves more than 3,000 dogs and cats every year.  Under his leadership, the Operation Kindness staff and volunteers care for an average of 300 animals at the shelter every day, with an additional 100 animals living in the organization’s foster home network.

Jim leads with compassion, integrity and follow-through.  He joined Operation Kindness in July 2013 after seven years in a leadership role at the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) — a nonprofit agency that works with disabled adults to help them find jobs through vocational rehabilitation, as well as helping families with disabled children to reach their full potential. Under his leadership, Jim’s group provided services to 85,000 people annually and he was responsible for a budget of $235 million.
