Mabrie Jackson, President & CEO – North Texas Commission
Mabrie Jackson joined the North Texas Commission as its President and CEO in July 2010 and is the 40-year-old organization’s first female leader.
Her background in the public sector includes serving on the Plano City Council in 2008 and 2009. After stepping down from the Plano City Council in 2009, Mabrie ran for the Texas Legislature as the Republican primary and run-off election candidate for the Texas House District 66 seat. She briefly served as interim president and CEO of the Plano Chamber of Commerce.
Mabrie worked at Microsoft Corporation for 13 years incubating award-winning, revenue-producing relationships with international, national and local technology companies. Prior to Microsoft, Mabrie spent 10 years in financial services marketing for EDS.

Darrell Smith is the founder of Oakbrook Builders, a general contractor specializing in the construction and renovation of senior housing communities.
Oakbrook Builders’ leadership team has delivered over 50 free standing senior housing projects across 19 states including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Medical Specialty clinics. In addition, the team has completed dozens of renovations of occupied skilled nursing facilities.
Darrell has been managing senior housing design and construction for 18 years. As a principal of Oakbrook Builders, he utilizes his 34 years of experience in planning and construction management to guide his clients, and he is a true development partner.
